Alan John Walter Colburn

 Alan John Walter Colburn, 79, of Gorham, NH passed away on Friday August 9, 2024 at his home. He was born in London, England on May 30, 1945 the son of the late Elbridge C. and Gladys V. (Watkins) Colburn and came to the US as an infant. He was raised in St. Johnsbury, VT and returned to England in 1960. He graduated from the Polytechnical Institute in England and then joined the US Army. Alan then returned to the United States and has resided in Gorham, NH for 48 years. He had been employed by Fraser Paper and a boiler operator for 34 ½ years. Alan was a member of the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion in Gorham and was a Life Member of the N.R.A. He was very interested in history, especially Civil War history and was a member of the Civil War Hemlocks Reenactment Group. He was a hunter safety instructor for 20 years and loved the outdoors, hunting and in his younger years, fishing.

 Family includes his wife Patricia (Boudreau) Colburn of Gorham, NH; son Andrew Colburn and wife Suzanne of Lisbon, NH; grandson Nathaniel T. P. Colburn of Lisbon, NH; cousins and his dogs Zoey, Buddy and Dozer. He was predeceased by his brother David and nephew Jamie.

 Per Alan’s request, there will be no services. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Online guestbook at www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
