Alexander M. Tupick, 92, of Berlin, passed away on Sunday January 20, 2019 at Country Village in Lancaster. He was born in Berlin on January 19, 1927 the son of the late Michael J. and Eugenia (Tarasevich) Tupick and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Berlin High School and received a degree at the Voc-Tech as a pipefitter. Alex served in the US Army and was a member of the Red Ball Express during WW11. He was employed as a lumberjack and as a pipefitter for Brown Company and James River Corp, from which he retired in 1986. Alex was a dedicated lifelong servant of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church where he was very active in the re-construction and the re-opening of the Church in the 70s. He was a lifelong member of the Church choir. He was avid hiker and completed the Vermont long Trail, hiked on the Appalachian Trial, and completed the AMC 4000-Footer Club and the 100 Highest Club with his family. Alex enjoyed time with his family, taking his children fishing, hunting, camping and traveling. He had been active in youth activities and the 4-H Club. He also loved animals and helped sponsor the Mt. Washington Valley Humane Society. Alex built his own home where he raised his family in Berlin. He was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone in need. Family includes his wife Dawn (Berntsen) Tupick of Berlin, NH; children Della Cartier and husband Richard of Loudon, NH, Alexander H. Tupick and wife Diane of Berlin, NH, Dennis M. Tupick and wife Sara of Randolph, NH and Judith C. Maenle and husband Keith of Chesapeake, VA; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews and cousins; his Australian Shepherd, Carey, and his cat, Mylo. He was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Radsky and Olga Darchik, and his brothers, Harry Tupick and Michael Tupick Jr.. Funeral Services will be held on Friday January 25, 2019 at 11 AM at the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Berlin. Interment will follow in the Russian City Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM and on Friday from 10 to 11 AM at the church, prior to the service. Anyone who wishes may make a gift to the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 20 Petrograd St., Berlin, NH, 03570, in his memory.
