Alice D. Mackinnon

Alice D. MacKinnon, formerly of 522 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH passed away at the Coos County Nursing Home on May 19, 2008. She was 93 years of age. She was born in Berlin on February 6, 1915 to Francois and Maxima (Nadeau) Bisson. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis MacKinnon, in 1983. Alice is survived by her sister Olive Sullivan and her sister and brother-in-law Adeline and George Ramsey, of Berlin; her children and their spouses, Beverly and Philip Waystack of Colebrook, James and Marsha MacKinnon of Milan, and Evelyn MacKinnon and Fred Lavigne of Center Sandwich, NH; by her grandchildren Jamie Cooney and Jeremy Cooney, both of Colebrook, Amanda MacKinnon of Londonderry, and Alison MacKinnon and Emmy MacKinnon, both of La Jolla, CA; three loving great grandchildren, her sisters-in-law Claire Roberge, Yolande Bisson and Germaine Bisson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Alice grew up on Cates Hill in Berlin, on the Bisson family farm. She had 14 brothers and sisters. Alice enjoyed visiting with her sisters, family, and friends and was a warm and engaging presence. She was proud of her French-Canadien heritage, and especially proud of her family. She was a member of St. Kieran Church (now known as Good Shepherd Parish) and was an avid flower gardener and quilter, and loved photography. SERVICES: A Memorial Service will be held at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH on Saturday June 14, 2008 at 11 AM. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coos County Nursing Home, Activities Fund, P.O. Box 416, Berlin, NH 03570.
