Barbara E. Casey

Barbara E. Casey, 92, of Berlin, passed away on Sunday November 26, 2023 at the Coos County Nursing Home. She was born in Bethel, ME on February 1, 1931 the daughter of John and Wilhelmina (O’Leary) Nowlin and had resided in Bethel, ME and Mexico, ME before moving to Berlin in 2016. She had been employed by the Madison Hotel in Rumford, ME and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Barbara loved to sing, dance and play the guitar.

Barbara was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed 60 wonderful years with her husband, Alfred. She was a very loving mother to her daughter Brenda and son Steven. She felt blessed to have her son Earland in her life. She gave him up for adoption when she was 19 and they were happily re-united when he became of age. She also appreciated time with her grandchildren.

Family includes her children Brenda Fortier and husband Glen of Berlin, NH, Steven Casey and wife Jackie of Nashua, NH and Earland Leeman and wife Jean of Gorham, ME; grandchildren Timothy Sirois and wife Alicia, Tammy Leeman and Jeffrey Leeman; great grandchildren Scarlet and Daniel Sirois and brother Kenneth Nowlin of Harrison, ME. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Casey and siblings Florence Morgan, Raymond Nowlin, John Nowlin, Jr., Carl Nowlin, Eva Lane, Rena Powers, Marjorie Nowlin, Grace Bartlett, Lottie Knowles and Clyde Nowlin.
