Mr. Bennie William Lavernoich, 87, of Berlin, NH passed away on Monday morning September 3, 2007 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Berlin, NH on September 22, 1919 the son of Joseph and Julia (Romiel) Lavernoich and has been a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Berlin High School with the class of 1938, then served in the C.C.s from Ayers, ME. He entered the US Army in Portland, Maine on March 13, 1941 as a supply clerk. He received the Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation with Bronze Service Star. Bennie was a graduate of Bentley Accounting School in Boston, MA. Upon graduation, he became employed as a clerk in the Woods Department for the Brown Company and later became employed in the Accounting Department and retired as Credit Manager for James River Corporation. Members of the family include three sisters Bernice Migetz of Berlin, NH, Della Hanson of Nashua, NH and Fort Myers, FL and Irene Redfern of Berlin, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, six brothers Adam, Joseph, Edward, Alphonse, Valerian and Lawrence and by three sisters Mary Dupont, Felicia McIntyre and Mildred Sheridan. A private committal service will be held on Friday September 7, 2007 at 11 AM in the Calvary Cemetery in Berlin. There will be no calling hours. The Bryant Funeral Home in Berlin is in charge of the arrangements.
