Mrs. Berniece (Homan) Brackett, formerly of Randolph, beloved wife of the late George Brackett, died peacefully on November 28, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Beverly MA, she was the daughter of the late Hammond and Edna (McIntyre) Homan. Berniece graduated from Beverly High School, Class of 1947 and lived in Salem and Topsfield, before moving to Randolph New Hampshire in 1974. She was employed at the New England Telephone Company prior to her marriage and raising her family. After moving to NH, she and her husband owned and operated Panorama Red Cedar Homes and she also worked at Montgomery Ward in Berlin.
Berniece was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who was greatly devoted to her family and will be deeply missed. Berniece especially enjoyed family time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting, puzzles, card games and camping at Dolly Copp and Sebago Lake Campgrounds. She frequently enjoyed hosting pool parties at her Randolph home and was a life-long lover of music. She was also an active member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Salem, MA and the TOPS Club in Gorham, NH. Berniece was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed many exciting sports moments with her family.
Berniece is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Pake and husband Bryant of Randolph, NH, Carol Goulet and husband Roger of Gorham, NH, and Beverly Leclerc and husband Richard of Beverly, MA; one son Glenn Brackett and wife Shirley of Northwood, NH; Ten grandchildren Bryant Pake, Daniel Pake, Jennifer Howard, Matthew Goulet, Kate Borror, Timothy Goulet, Zachary Brackett, Allison Silvestri, Rebecca Binette and Lauren Leclerc; Twenty-five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, George Brackett, her sisters, Frances Cammett, Dorothy Crane, Margery MacCarthy, Norma Barbin and her brothers, William Homan, Richard Homan, and Robert Homan. She will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
The family greatly appreciates the care and compassion provided by the staff at the Coos County Nursing home and the North Country Home Health and Hospice Agency.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Services will be private. Interment will be in the New Randolph Cemetery. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in her memory to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
