Mrs. Berthe M. Gagnon, 106, of Berlin, NH, passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving morning, November 28, 2024 surrounded by her family at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born on September 18, 1918 in St. Cecile, Quebec the daughter of the late Donat and Rose Anna (Duquette) Gagnon. Berthe was an active member of St Joseph Church, now Good Shepherd Parish and was also involved with the VFW Auxiliary. She had been employed in the Kitchen of St. Vincent de Paul for many years. She was presented the Cane of Wisdom for being Coos County’s eldest resident in 2022.
She is survived by her son Carl Gagnon and wife Alice of Berlin, NH; her daughter Louise Curry of Lakeland, FL; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred A. Gagnon in 1984, sons Roland Gagnon and Donald Gagnon and all of her siblings Leo D. Gagnon, Alice LeBlanc, Adrienne Langlais, Aldea Michaud, Noella Lambert, Beatrice Hanson and Armand Gagnon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday December 10, 2024 at 1 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin with interment following at Holy Family Cemetery, Gorham. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday December 10 from 10:30 AM-12:30 PM, prior to the Mass at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin.
