Carlene S. Dumais, 80, of Venice, FL, passed away on September 11, 2018. She was born in Berlin, NH and lived there in her earlier years. She moved to Woodsville, NH when she was in 7th grade and graduated from Woodsville High School in 1956. She moved back to Berlin a year after graduation. She was a loving and devoted mother who cared for her family. She and her husband, Maurice Dumais, raised their children in Berlin and resided there for many years, until moving to Florida 17 years ago. She worked for Caron Building Center for many years, and later for Color Works as a Kitchen & Bath Designer. She had also worked for Ware Knitters when she first returned to Berlin in 1957. Carlene generously gave much of her time as a volunteer for the Berlin High Backers, Womens Club, and the Hospital Auxiliary. Carlene is survived by her husband of 57 years, Maurice E. Dumais of Venice, FL; her children and their spouses: Dr. Donald Dumais, DDS and Sherry of Alton, NH, David Dumais and Brenda of Marblehead, MA, Daniel Dumais and Maureen of Holden, MA, and Sarah Dumais and Marcy Cheney of Tuftonboro, NH. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; her brother Steve Tardiff and his wife Sue of Berlin, NH; her sister Mary Ellen Schwarzwalder and her husband Alan of Medford, NJ; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Rene and Mildred (Forestall) Tardiff, and her brother Donald Tardiff. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday September 22, 2018 at 11 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will follow in the St. Anne Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 AM, prior to the service.
