Cecile L. Labbe

Cecile L. Labbe, 72, of Berlin, went home to the Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2015. She was born in Berlin, on January 11, 1943, the loving daughter of the late Julien O. and Florence R. (Tremblay) Labbe. She devoted her life to teaching the Lords ways by beginning her career as a novice with the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. She never lost touch of her calling and was a dedicated teacher earning her MA in Theology at Rivier College. She served as Principal at St. Michael School and spread the word of the Lord as the Director of Religious Education for Holy Family in Gorham and Good Shepherd in Berlin. Cecile was a very giving person. Her entire life was dedicated to serving the community bringing the teaching of the Church to many generations of Berlin and Gorham residents through her selfless dedication as a teacher, principal and friend to all who had the good fortune of meeting her. She will be missed by her family and community. Cecile was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Lucien and Raymond J. Labbe. Her family includes her brother Leo Labbe and his wife Carol of Clovis, CA, her sister-in-law Linda Labbe (Raymonds wife) of Marlborough, CT, a nephew Mathew Labbe and wife Susannah, nieces Robin Labbe, Jennifer (Labbe) Hicks and husband Daniel, Jill (Labbe) Moskites and husband Joshua and 5 grand nephews and 2 grand nieces. Relatives and friends may call on the family on Friday, January 8, 2016, from 7 - 9 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January, 9, 2016 at 10AM at St. Anne Church of the Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home prior to the Mass from 9 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in Ceciles name to either Holy Family in Gorham or Good Shepherd in Berlin.
