Whitefield, NH

David A. Stephenson, 68, of Whitefield, NH, passed away on Monday June 17, 2024 at the Morrison Home. He was born in Berlin, NH on July 11, 1955 the son of the late Leslie and Arline (Arsenault) Stephenson and was a graduate of Gorham High School. David had a zest for life and living it to the fullest each and every day. He was a member of the Whitefield Christian Church and was involved in such groups and organizations as the Friendship Group (Common Ground/NHS), People of the First (Concord Self Advocacy Group), Special Olympics and the Colonel Town Players. His last place of employment was the Morrison Nursing Home where he worked in the laundry and was a floor assistant for 16 years before retiring. He took great pride in his work and loved visiting with all of the residents.

David had numerous interests such as horseback riding at Stable Connections, skiing with the Adaptive Sports Program at Cannon Mountain, swimming, bike riding, snow machining, attending concerts, bowling with his pal Debbie ziplining, studying insects and birds, picnics, restaurants and attending various fairs. David loved music and was an excellent drum player. He was once a guest DJ at a local radio station. He enjoyed spending his summers in Weirs Beach on Lake Winnipesaukee. He would ride the M. S. Mount Washington Cruise Boat, ride the train, walk the boardwalk with his buddy, Pat, and picnic over Spindle Point in Meredith and in Gunstock Acres in Gilford.

David met Governor John Lynch and Tom Griffith from WMUR on the Big Boat. He loved flying to OH to visit his big sister, Barbara, and his nephew, Brian. He would go to Cedar Point to ride the roller coasters, check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and get spoiled by his sister during his entire vacation. He absolutely enjoyed spending holidays and special moments with his big brothers and their wives along with all of his nephews and nieces.

David had a wonderful, quirky personality, the most infectious laugh/smile and a willingness to help others. He loved watching the Three Stooges with his good ole buddies of Berlin, Leo and Gary. He had several other friends that loved and admired David for the wonderful man that he was.

A Special Thanks to the Morrison Staff/Residents, Northern Human Services/Common Ground Staff/ friends, Office of the Public Guardian staff, Life Coping staff, the Ammonoosuc Community Health Services staff for the years of excellent care, and all of the other doctors and nurses David encountered over the years. If you had the pleasure of knowing David, you were one of the lucky ones! We love you Davey. Until we meet again, may God rest your beautiful soul.
