Donald Joseph Fournier, 65, of Berlin and formerly of Rhode Island, passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2020 at his home in Berlin. He was born in Warwick, RI on November 21, 1955 the son of the late Edward and Cecilia (LeBlanc) Fournier. Donald served four years in the United States Navy, following his discharge he was employed by the Federal Government. After his retirement several years ago he moved to Berlin. Donald loved spending time driving around New Hampshire.
Don like to live a very simple life. He enjoyed living in this small town Berlin, New Hampshire. In the Spring, both he and his wife would be working on their garden growing vegetables. They spent many hours picking fiddleheads, Koreans love this plant to make side dishes and put in soups. In the winter Don would be out shoveling snow every few hours, religiously. He loved to go for long drives and enjoyed the scenic views such as the changing of the leaves in the Fall and the snow covered mountains in the Winter. Some of his favorite spots were Echo Lake and the Basin. They had good neighbors that would watch out for each other, they would graciously help each other. He loved living here and always kept himself busy. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Jae Fournier of Berlin; step daughters Tae Wooldridge of Murrieta, CA and Tae McKinzie of San Diego, CA; grandchildren Olivia, Micaela, Alexa, Naya, and Keira; two sisters Dianne Bearsdlee of New York and Barbara Evans of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
