Donald E. Sloane, Sr.

Donald E. Sloane, Sr., 92, of Berlin, passed away on Tuesday March 26, 2024 at the Lafayette Center in Franconia. He was born in Berlin on September 17, 1931 the son of Emmett and Solveig (Johnson) Sloane and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1949 and attended business school for 2 years before serving 4 years in the US Air Force. Donald had been employed for 43 years at Brown Company and James River, retiring as a clerk in the Cascade Towel Room Office. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he had served on the church council, a Life Member of the VFW White Mountain Post #2520 and had also been employed by the Bryant Funeral Homes for many years.

Family includes his children Lori Boudreau and husband Paul of Berlin, NH, Sandra Sloane-Stein and husband Russell of Newton, MA and Donald E. Sloane, Jr. of Berlin, NH; 6 grandchildren; brother Robert Sloane and wife Gloria of Berlin, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Maxine F. (Shannon) Sloane on April 18, 2012.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday April 10, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 101 Norway St., Berlin. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the New City Cemetery. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
