Doreen Chabot

Doreen Chabot of Gorham, NH, passed away peacefully with her loving family and dearest friend by her side on January 25, 2025. She was born in Berlin, NH on April 26, 1940, the daughter of Jeannette Lindner and William Brideau. She married Roland Chabot in October 1958 and together they opened the Gorham Hardware Store in 1964. She served as the bookkeeper, handling all the financial aspects of the business until December 2024. Her dear husband of 50 years passed in 2005. At that time their son Michael took over managing the family business.

Doreen was well-liked and respected by her friends and community. She enjoyed life immensely and traveled to many places, including Connecticut, California, Las Vegas, New York City, and more.

Her family includes her beloved sons, Michael of Gorham, NH and Gary and his wife Pam of Durham, CT; she was a cherished grandmother to Eric (Stephanie) of Raymond, NH, Adam (Alyssa) of Kents Hill, ME, Jonathan (Sarah Davis) of Manchester NH, Caitlynn and Christopher Brooks of Durham CT; she was also a great-grandmother to Oscar Chabot and Jonathan Brooks. Her dearest friend and (sister) Karen Laflamme of Berlin, NH, who were friends for 63 years, a niece Christine Furkart of So. Boston, MA and a nephew Craig Jurkiewicz of Simi Valley, CA.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her mother Jeannette Lindner, father William Brideau, sister Betty Jurkiewicz and brother Kenneth Brideau.

Doreen's love for her family and friends, as well as her adventurous spirit, will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
