Dorothy L. Scherer

Dorothy Scherer, 93, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023 at her home.  She was born in Berlin, NH on August 6, 1930 the daughter of the late Armand and Germaine (Lemoine) Langlois.  Dorothy enjoyed walking and exercising including running when she was able.  She also liked baking cookies, watching wildlife, camping, and thoroughly enjoyed car rides up the Androscoggin River with her husband.

She is survived by her husband Robert Scherer of Milan; her children: Marc Vaillancourt and wife Vaune of Dover, NH and David Vaillancourt and wife Debra of Rochester, NH; step-children: Robert Scherer, Jr. of Orlando, FL, Michael Scherer of Central Islip, NY, Katherine "Kathy" Glenat of Dallas, TX, James Scherer of Mattituck, NY; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren;  siblings Genevive Nix of Ocala, FL, Denise Demers of Randolph, Helouise Lee of Ocala, FL; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

She was predeceased by her first husband and father of her children Alver Vaillancourt; a son Charles Vaillancourt; a daughter Suzanne Vaillancourt; and her siblings Jacqueline, Pierre, Jean, Patricia, Claudette and Paul. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin with interment following at Russian City Cemetery.  At her request, there will be no calling hours.  Those who wish may make donations in her memory to North Country Home Health & Hospice Agency, 536 Cottage St., Littleton, NH 03561 (nchhha.org).  Arrangements are entrusted to Bryant Funeral Homes, Berlin and Gorham, NH.  Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
