Mr. Edward J. Chodoski, 93, of Berlin, NH passed away on Monday December 1, 2008 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Augusta, ME on Feb. 7, 1915 the son of Peter and Anna (Lobacki) Chodoski and was a lifelong resident of Berlin. Ed was a graduate of Berlin High School with the class of 1933 and a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1937. He was a US Army veteran of WW2 and was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Captain. From 1946 to 1980 he was employed by the Brown Company as an engineer. He was a member of St. Kieran Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish and a member of the Ryan - Scammon Post #36 American Legion in Berlin. Ed had a lifelong love of the City of Berlin and the outdoors. His favorite pastime was to drive his jeep to Jericho Lake Park, Success Pond and Kilkenney and enjoy feeding the birds, squirrels and admiring the scenery. He was a lifelong collector and most recently enjoyed collecting wild grasses, walking sticks and rocks. Members of the family include his daughter Mary Ellen Warren of Enfield, NH; three grandchildren Christopher Warren of Boston, MA, Jeffrey Warren of Enfield, NH and Amanda Warren of Enfield, NH; nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth (Keough) Chodoski and by a son Peter Chodoski. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held on Friday morning December 5, 2008 at 11 AM in the Chapel of the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10 to 11 AM, prior to the service.
