Florence E. Smith

Miss Florence E. Smith, 91, of 161 Washington Street, Berlin, NH passed away on Tuesday February 20, 2007 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. She was born in Berlin, NH on March 18, 1915 the daughter of Robert A. and Sarah (MacPherson) Smith and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Berlin High School with the Class of 1933. She was a member of the UCC Congregational Church in Berlin serving in various capacities including treasurer and was also a member of the Historical Society in Berlin. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by Brown Company and James River Corporation, retiring in 1979. She is survived by several cousins and many good friends. She was predeceased by 2 sisters Martha Jane Costello and Flavilla Jameson and a brother Norman Smith. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday morning April 27, 2007 at 11 AM in the Chapel of the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH, with Rev. Diane Wood officiating. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in the Evans Cemetery in Gorham, NH.
