Georgette D. McCosh, age 97, of Berlin, NH, daughter of George and Azilda (Marquis) Roy, was born into life on July 13, 1926. She was born into eternal life on March 7, 2024.
Georgette graduated from Berlin High School in 1944 and subsequently missed only one class reunion.
A lifelong resident of Berlin, she married the love of her life, John D. McCosh, in 1952.
After graduation, she supported the war effort working one summer in Connecticut making parachute packs. Later she worked for Lavigne’s Red Wing Express where she was a bookkeeper for 10 years, then for S&H Green Stamps, in part, as manager during her 15 years there.
In addition to being a fantastic and wonderful mother, Georgette was an active volunteer as the treasurer for MESH (Motivated Elderly for Self Help) and a 25-year member of the Androscoggin Valley Hospital Auxiliary from 1992 to 2017 for which she received the Vaughan Special Recognition Award from then Governor Judd Gregg.
She was passionate about line dancing and actively participated in that for 29 years. Not long before her death, she was seen line dancing with her walker!
During her long life, she lovingly supported her family through their life’s journeys and easily became a companion to many others who enjoyed her friendship. Anyone living to age 97 can rightly say they’ve lived a very full life with treasured experiences.
In addition to her parents, Georgette was predeceased by four sisters Theresa Lambert, Doris Payette, Lucille Lavoie and Anita Farrington. She is survived by her two sons Steven and wife Louise, and Daniel and companion Dianna Dickenson, two sisters Lorraine Rydin and Simone Lariviere, four grandchildren Kelly McCosh, Karen Enman and husband Dan, John McCosh and wife Heidi (Roy) and Tom McCosh and companion Meagan Hood, and four great-grandchildren Liam O-‘Rourke, Rayah Enman, and twins Jack and Kamryn McCosh.
In honor of the amazing and kind person Georgette was, please give something of yourself to someone in need.
Interment will be at the St. Kieran Cemetery with a graveside service and celebration of her life scheduled for a later date.
