Gerard Joseph Bourque, Sr., 78, of 11 Western Ave., Berlin, NH passed away on Friday February 4, 2011 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, after a long illness. He was born in Berlin on October 24, 1932 the son of Alexander and Alice (Nolette) Bourque and was a lifelong resident. Gerard served in the National Guard and US Army and went on to work for Brown Company and James River Corporation for 44 years, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed working on snowblowers and lawn mowers as a past time. He was a member of the Union Local 75 and enjoyed his work. Members of the family include his devoted wife of 54 years Ruth (Holt) Bourque of Berlin, NH; a son Gerard Bourque and his wife Debbie of Berlin, NH; a daughter Brenda McLaughlin and her husband Butch of Barre, VT; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother Raymond Bourque of Melrose, MA; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Paul Bourque. At Gerards request, there will be no services. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Milan, NH.
