Hooksett, NH
Gerard J. Lessard formerly of Second Avenue, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. He was 82.
Born and raised in Berlin he was the son of Wilfred and Bertha (Bisson) Lessard.
Gerard served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956.
He was married to Irene Beaudoin and together they raised two children.
He was employed as a U.S. Postal Carrier and retired after 34 years of service, prior to that he also worked at Brown Company.
Gerard loved all sports, he played four years of Varsity Baseball for Norte Dame and four years as a goalie for Notre Dame. He enjoyed playing pool and horseshoes. He and his wife Irene enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods and dining out and most of all spending time with their grandchildren. He was an active member of the Eagles Club, the VFW and the American Legion.
Besides his parents and his wife Irene, Gerard is predeceased by his four brothers Aime, Norman, Edward and Robert Lessard and one sister Jeannette Lemire.
He leaves behind his son Richard Lessard and wife Mary from Hooksett, NH and his daughter Carol Stinchcomb of Glenn, NH; four grandchildren, Jill Bowden, Krystal McKenzie, Ryan Lessard and Matthew Lessard; one great-grandchild, Lyla Rodriguez; three sisters Pauline Lemire of Saco, ME, Olive Caron of Berlin, NH and Lucille Lessard of Berlin, NH; several nieces and nephews.
Friends and Relatives may call on the family on Sunday evening, January 24th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, and prior to the service on Monday, January 25th from 8:30am to 9:30am.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Monday, January 25th at St. Anne Church of Good Shephard Parish, Berlin. Interment will follow at St. Kierans Cemetery, Berlin.
