Germaine (Duchesnaye) Fontaine formally of Gorham passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Coos County Nursing Home. She was 95 years old.
Born in Berlin on January 13, 1922 she was the daughter of Simeon and Delina (Pelchat) Duchesnaye
Germaine spent her earlier years living in Berlin until she married Roger Fontaine at St. Benedicts Church in Cascade; where they later made their home. She was a communicant of St Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. She was employed at Granite State Rubber Company and later she was a nurses aide at Coos County Nursing Home.
Her greatest love was her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed quilting, knitting and traveling; she traveled to Spain, Italy and Portugal among many other destinations.
Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband Roger who passed away in 1967; a daughter Irene Caron; two grandsons Roger Robert Fontaine and Brent Rusnak and several brothers and sisters.
She leaves behind her son Roger Fontaine Jr and wife Roberta of Texas; a sister Gertrude Bruso of Massachusetts; grandchildren Angel Brown, Danita Thompson and Roberta Peters; great-grandchildren Keith Rusnak, Sarah Brown, Emily Anderson, Lily Thompson, and Kelsey Peters ; great-great grandchildren Aubree Chouinard, Bailee Rusnak and Keanum Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Monday, September 18th from 8:30am to 9:30am at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 18th at 10:00am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery, Gorham.
