Gertrude Ouellette of Berlin passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Coos County Nursing Home. She was 88 years old.
Born on March 13, 1928 in St. Mathieu Quebec Canada she was the daughter of Charles and Clairina (Parent) Boulanger.
On August 19, 1946 she married Louis Ouellette and together they raised three children. She celebrated her marriage with two of her sisters who also married on the same day in a triple ceremony.
She was a nurses aide at St. Louis Hospital and she also worked on the assembly line at Converse and Bass shoe.
Gertrude moved to Berlin in 1954. She was a communicant of St Joseph Parish, Good Shepherd Parish, and a member of the Ladies of St. Annes Society. She loved spending time with family and friends; she often traveled back to Canada to visit with them. She also did some traveling with tour groups. She loved spending time at camp and playing cards. She did a variety of volunteer work such as working at the BINGO at St. Joseph Parish and then the Good Shepherd Parish; she also volunteered helping the elderly with daily care.
Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband Louis Ouellette who passed away in 1988; brothers Arthur, Paul, Gerard and Raymond; sisters Florence, Cecile, Therese all from Canada.
She leaves behind her two sons Jean Ouellette and wife Judy of Colebrook, NH and Paul Ouellette and wife Margie of Berlin, NH; a daughter Nicole "Niki" Beckwith and husband James of Berlin, NH; Four grandchildren; Jason Beckwith of Goffstown, Justin Beckwith of Berlin, Jennifer Cook and husband Andrew of Cumberland, ME, Nathan Ouellette of Berlin; five great-grandchildren; Hannah, Jagger, Owen, Alida and Orianna; sisters Denise, Marie-Rose, Jeannine and Beatrice all of Canada; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, Berlin, NH. Interment will follow at St. Kierans Cemetery.
Callings hours will be held on Friday, February 24th from 6:00pm til 8:00pm and prior to the service on Saturday at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH from 8:30am til 9:30am.
