Gloria E. Sweatt

Gloria E. (Porter) Sweatt, 83, of Errol, NH passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Country Village Healthcare in Lancaster, NH. She was born in Colebrook, on May 18, 1932 the daughter of Alton and Arvilla (Sweatt) Porter and lived in Errol most of her life. She liked to travel with her sisters and her brother, enjoyed knitting, doing puzzles, reading, ceramics and liked dancing. Gloria graduated from the Errol Consolidated School and assisted Agnes Sweatt with the first phone switchboard in Errol, NH along with being a cook at the Errol Consolidated School, a Janitor at the Errol Town Hall before she was a secretary/bookkeeper for R. Sweatt & Sons, Inc. She was a member of the Errol Congregational Church. Family includes her husband, Ralph Sweatt, her sons Bradford L. Sweatt and wife Diane of Errol and Barry Sweatt of Errol; grandchildren Russell Sweatt and wife Annie of California, Sean Sweatt of Berlin, Tiffany L. Sweatt and husband Kevin Follis of Errol, Stephanie Barney and husband Justin of Groveton and Nathan Fortier of Errol; 6 great grandchildren; siblings include Merton Porter and wife Pearl of Colebrook, Alda Barnett and husband Malcolm of Errol, Eva Byard and husband Terry of Clarksville, TN, Lois Smith of Newport, VT and Mildred Pelletier of Swanzey, NH, step sister Sheila Beauchemin and husband Keith; many nieces, nephews and cousins. And let's not forget the love of her life "Joey" her shitzu dog. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law Nancy L. Sweatt, grand-daughter Miranda L. Sweatt, brothers Norman Porter and Wendall Porter, sister Arvilla E. Grenier and an infant son. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Errol Congregational Church at 11:00 am Interment will be in the Errol Village Cemetery, calling hours Monday, January 25, 2016 from 4-7 pm at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin.
