Gloria N. Gallant

Ms. Gloria N. Gallant, 87, of Garwood, NJ and formerly of Gorham, NH, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway, NJ after a period of failing health. She was born in Berlin, NH on May 18, 1936 the daughter of Jean Felix and Lucia (LeBlanc) Gallant. She graduated from Notre Dame High School. She moved to New York to attend X-ray school and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in radiology technology from Hostos Community College in the Bronx. For several years, she was employed as an X-Ray Technician at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, NH and worked at Jacobi Medical Center (NYC Health) in the Bronx, NY for over 30 years.

Gloria enjoyed watching sports on TV, particularly football, golf and baseball. She enjoyed playing bingo and travelling. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cruising to the Caribbean with her daughter, grand daughter and son in law. She was a devoted Catholic, attended mass regularly and prayed the Rosery every day. She enjoyed nature and watching the squirrels, birds and groundhogs in her backyard.

She is survived by her daughter Consuelo Gallant-Nieves, her son in law Paul Nieves, granddaughter Priscilla, of Garwood, NJ, and her son Robert Paul Somers and his wife Nicolette  of the Netherlands; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother, Lucia LeBlanc Gallant, her step-mother Evelyn (Marchand) Gallant, her father Jean Felix Gallant, as well as her siblings Priscilla Morin, Jean Paul Gallant and Bertha Santiago.
