Hubert M. Legere of Spruce Street died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, NH. He was 85.
Born on July 21, 1928 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of Theotime and Marie (Baillargeon) Legere.
Hubert was a 1946 graduate of Notre Dame High School. He was employed in the towel room at the Brown Company in Berlin and retired in 1990 from James River Corp after 40 years of service.
On October 8, 1955, he married Pearl Moreau. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage.
Hubert grew up attending Angel Guardian Church and after marriage he attended St. Kieran's Church now St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish.
He will be remembered for his love of camping and was an avid collector of classic movies.
Spending time with his family was most important.
Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by three brothers Arthur, Maurice, and Paul Legere and a sister Juliette Merrill.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Pearl Legere of Berlin, A daughter Gail Rivard and husband Raymond of Berlin and two sons Marc Legere and wife Christine of Hockessin, DE and John Legere and companion Angela of Berlin; five grandchildren Stacy, Nicholas, Drew, Benjamin and Sister Rouen (Holly); two sisters Beatrice Landry and Jeannette Demers both of Berlin, sister-in-law Clarisse Legere of Berlin and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday, May 27th at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Berlin.
Calling hours will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, May 26th and Tuesday May 27th from 8:30am to 9:30am prior to the Mass at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Health Center or the local food pantry.
