Ida M. Bagley, 85, of Albany Township, ME and formerly of Gorham, NH, passed away on Wednesday June 26, 2024 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after a period of declining health and surrounded by her family. She was born in Shrewsbury, WV on October 7, 1938 the daughter of the late Harold W. and Glenna F. (Paxton)Belcher and grew up there. She spent 14 years traveling while her husband was in the US Marine Corps and had lived in the Gorham and Bethel area for many years. Ida was a member of the Gorham Congregational Church and attended the Bethel Union Church. She was also a member of the American Legion in both Gorham, NH and Bethel, ME. Ida had worked for the Town of Gorham Public Library for 21 years before retiring and then she spent time at the lake and also traveled with her dog, Meadow, and RV for many years. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, puzzles, gardening and spending time with her all the family and kids, who were her pride and joy.
Family includes her sons Donald Bagley and wife Nancy of Claremont, NH and William Bagley; grandchildren Elizabeth Bagley and husband David, Hannah Bagley, Brooke Bagley, Jose Pequeno, and Koral Gardner and husband Joe; great grandchildren Isabella Bagley Broome, Mercedes Pequeno, Alexandria Pequeno, Gaige Pequeno and Benjamin Gardner; great-great grandson Zayden Walker; her brother Kenneth Belcher of Vienna, WV and her sisters Janice Dye of Gerrardstown, WV and Ruth Simmons of Cincinnati, OH; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert L. Bagley and her son Robert Bagley.
Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday July 3, 2024 at 10 AM at the Holy Family Cemetery in Gorham, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
