Irene Annette Caron of Denmark Street passed away unexpectedly, Friday October 1, 2010 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. She was 66.
Born on June 11, 1944 in Berlin, NH, she was the daughter of Roger F. and Germaine V. (Duchesnaye) Fontaine.
She grew up in Cascade and was a graduate of Our Lady of the Mountain High School in Gorham. She then graduated from Berlin Technical College with a degree in Human Services.
A longtime resident of Berlin, she was a communicant of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin and was a member of the church choir. She volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Society and was a member of the Marie Rivier Association.
Irene enjoyed quilting, oil painting especially landscapes and still life, flower gardening, and reading.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Leo Caron passed away in 2008 and her father Roger F. Fontaine in 1967.
She leaves her daughter Roberta M. Peters and her husband Jesse of Gorham.
Two Granddaughters Kelsey V. Peters of Gorham and Naomie Peters of Connecticut.
Her mother Germaine V. Fontaine of Berlin.
A brother Roger Fontaine and his wife Roberta of Splendora, TX.
Several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Wednesday, Oct 6 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Gorham.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm and 7-9pm Tuesday, Oct 5 at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St, Berlin (Use School St entrance).
