Isabelle Blais, 83, of Tenth St., Berlin, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 8, 2012 at her home surrounded by her lovingly family. She was born in Berlin on October 23, 1928 the daughter of Eva and Edward Murphy. She graduated from Notre Dame High School Class of 1947. She married Fernand Blais and they were lifelong residents of Berlin. Isabelle was an active communicant of Guardian Angel Parish and now the Good Shepherd Parish. She was employed at Sears for several years and later worked as a teller for the Guardian Angel Credit Union. She was a long time volunteer board member for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, having served as its treasurer and president. She also gave many hours of her time to the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop. She was an active member of the Ladies of St. Anne and, more recently, the Marie Rivier Associates. With her husband, they enjoyed traveling to many parts of the United States and Europe. They also took several Caribbean cruises and a Mediterranean cruise celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Many springs were spent helping out Lucien and Muriel at Bissons Sugar House. Most of all, Isabelle enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family with her home being the center of many gatherings. She is survived by her daughters Elise Johnson and husband Mike, Bernadette Hallgren and husband Tim, sons Lucien and wife Muriel, Daniel and wife Darlene, all of Berlin. She leaves 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister Jeannette Croteau and husband Bob of Lewiston, ME, brother George Murphy of Berlin, sisters-in-law Gladys Murphy, Sr. Jeannine Blais, brothers-in-law Raymond Blais and wife Lorraine, Richard Blais and wife Helen and one aunt and best friend, Simone Hamel. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Fernand, in 2007, daughters Muriel Poirier and Rochelle Blais, sister Dorothy Murphy and brothers Ernest, Henri, Robert and Rev. Romeo Murphy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday August 14, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Interment will be in the St. Anne Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and from 9 to 9:30 AM, prior to the Mass.Donations can be made to AVH Home Health and Hospice, AV Home Care Services or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
