Jacklyn Theresa (Bisson) Nadeau passed away on November 22, 2023 at her home in Berlin, from Lou Gehrig’s disease at the age of 72. She was born in Berlin on September 13, 1951, the daughter of Laurier and Jeanette (Lebrun) Bisson.
Jacklyn attended St. Regis Academy and Notre Dame High School, graduating in 1969, then attended St. Louis Hospital School of Nursing, becoming a licensed practical nurse. She was a longtime member of the AVH Auxiliary, serving twice as president and twice on the board of the New Hampshire Association of Hospital Auxiliaries. After joining the Berlin & Coos County Historical Society, she was trained as a genealogist. Her books of families were her greatest joy, encompassing 23 years of work with hundreds of family trees, tracing Berlin families as far into the past as possible. She and Ben Napert loved their work there. Growing up, Jacklyn enjoyed spending summers at her parents’ cottage at Cedar Pond in Milan.
Jacklyn is survived by her husband of 51 years, Walter J. Nadeau of Berlin; a son, Daniel Nadeau and husband Ron Nutton of Peabody, MA; two daughters, Marie C. Dubey and significant other Garrett Baxter of Sheffield, VT, and Suzanne Smith and husband Kevin of Berlin; a sister Melinda Ann (Mimi) Laflamme of Anchorage, AK; along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 9 – 11AM, with the service to follow at 11AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. A reception will be held at the White Mountain Chalet, 151 E. Milan Rd., Berlin, following the service.
