Jean-Paul A. "JP " Poirier, 94, of Berlin, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024 at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehab and Nursing Center. He was born in Berlin on June 22, 1930 the son of the late Joseph A. and Yvonne G. (Gagnon) Poirier and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1948 and served with the US Navy during the Korean War. JP had been employed by Brown Company and James River as a printer in the Towel Room. At the time, he was well known as the man that made the toast for his fellow employees every morning. He was an active member of Good Shepherd Parish, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and a lector, and also volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Center (now Guardian Angel Thrift Shop). He was a member of Local #75, a Life Member of VFW Post 2520, the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree, the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre and the American Canado Association. 

Family includes his wife of 72 years, Cecile F. (Vallee) Poirier of Berlin, NH; his children Donald Poirier of Berlin, NH, David Poirier and wife Janet of Gorham, NH, Sylvia Ramsey of Gorham, NH, Denise Roberge and partner Mark James of Jackson, NH, Jeanne Roberge of Berlin, NH and Collette Aurand and husband William of Remsen, NY; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother Richard "Rupert" Poirier and wife Priscilla of Berlin, NH; sisters-in-law Priscilla Poirier and Jeannine Poirier, and former daughter-in-law Debbie Poirier all of Berlin; several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was predeceased by his sons-in-law Robert "Beef" Ramsey, Donald Roberge and Norman Roberge, his brothers Normand "Huskey" Poirier, Raymond Poirier and Roland Poirier. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 1pm at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin with interment following at St. Anne Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 5-7pm at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Activities Fund, 29 Providence Ave. or the Marie Rivier Food Pantry, c/o: Good Shepherd Parish, 151 Emery St., both of Berlin, NH 03570.
