Jeannette P. Vezina

Jeannette P. Vezina, 95, of Berlin, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born in Berlin on October 14, 1927 the daughter of the late Omer E. and Jeanne (Croteau) Therrien and was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from St. Regis School in 1942 and from Berlin High School in 1946. She had been a clerk at several local stores including the Army Navy Store, the Bell Shop, the House of Style, Days Jewelers (which was her favorite workplace), Grant's and Duffy's, retiring in 1993. Throughout her life, Jeannette enjoyed knitting various homemade crafts for her family, loved walking outdoors especially on country roads, enjoying her husband's cooking (a duty to which she happily turned over to him), her pets especially her dog Princess and numerous cats. Above all else, Jeannette enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished her role as "Old Memere" to her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the quiet country living of West Milan, where she resided for 30 years with her late husband Guy and was a member of Good Shepherd Parish.

Family includes her daughters Yvette Topliffe of Marriott Island, FL and Lucy Jeskey and companion Charlie McMann of Milan, NH; grandchildren Wendy Topliffe, Amy Drapeau and husband Randy, Aaron Topliffe and wife Becky, Mandy Sage and husband Derek and Brooke Jacobson and husband Billy; great grandchildren Darrian and Derrik Drapeau, Piper and Casen Sage, Jacob Topliffe, Avery Anderson, Andrew and Austin Topliffe, Tate, Tegan "Guy", Gabe and Daayna Jacobson. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life Guy, her beloved son-in-law Michael W. Jeskey and her daughter Yvette's companion Frank Laws.

Toward the end of her life, Jeannette was cared for by the staff at St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Her whitty nature made her a beloved resident and she enjoyed a good relationship with the staff. Jeannette's family remains grateful for her care over the past 15 months.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 10am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin with interment following at St. Anne Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 5-7pm at the Bryant & Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin.
