Joan B. Couture

Joan B. Couture, 89, of Berlin, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care in Lebanon, where she received wonderful care after a period of failing health. Joan was born in Berlin on July 8, 1935, a twin daughter of the late Gedeon and Fridoline (Roy) Couture and lived in Berlin all of her life. She worked in the office for Royal Crown Wholesale for many years, and later for Dumais Beverages, The Oil Man and Irving Oil. Joan was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church, now Good Shepherd Parish and was the Treasurer for the Monsignor Lauziere Foundation for many years.

Joan is survived by her brother Donald W. Couture of Berlin, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her five siblings Shirley Lessard, Warren Couture, Pearl Guay, Priscilla Berube, and her twin sister, June Couture.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin, with interment following at St. Kieran Cemetery, Berlin. Per Joan's request, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital-Boston, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114 (shrinerschildrens.org) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
