John J. Burke

John Joseph Burke, Jr., 75, of Berlin, New Hampshire passed away on Thursday January 2, 2025 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a period of failing health. He was born in Boston, MA on December 27, 1949 the son of the late John J. Burke Sr. and Eileen (Regan) Burke and has resided in Berlin, NH for many years. John had served in the United States Air Force and was employed by Plymouth Nuclear Power Plant as an Armed Security Officer prior to his retirement. John actively volunteered for many years with the Special Olympics and was the Corps Sergeant Major of the Berlin Salvation Army.

Members of the family include his wife Elena Burke of Berlin; four children Brendan Burke and his wife Christine of Plymouth, MA, William “Billy” Burke of Berlin, Sharon Burke of Berlin and Bonnie Burke and her husband Nathan Mullen of Anchorage, AK; four grandchildren Brian and Arianna Burke, Tamara Olson and Rowan Burke; a great grandchild Damon Deane; a sister Margaret “Peggy” Flynn and her husband James of Londonderry; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by siblings Thomas, James, Mary and Robert “Vinnie”.

SERVICES: A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday January 8, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Salvation Army Building, 15 Cole Street, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the Hillside City Cemetery, Berlin.
