John D. "Morty" Morton Jr.

John D. Morty Morton, Jr., age 53, of Berlin, NH passed away on Friday May 24, 2013 in Berlin. He was born in Berlin, NH on June 24, 1959 the son of John D. Morton Sr. and Jacquelyn (Mason) Morton and was a lifelong resident. Morty was a graduate of Berlin High School with the class of 1977 and had been employed for many years at Morneau Movers, prior to becoming self employed as Morty The Mover. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, ATV riding and camp at Black Jack. Members of the family include his mother Jacquelyn (Mason) Morton of Venice, FL; his sister Karen Morton of Berlin; a brother Scott Morton of Colorado and Connecticut; two nephews Jeremiah Pinette and Robert Douglas, both of Berlin; a stepdaughter Marissa Santoes of Londonderry, NH; aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved dog Mally May. He was predeceased by his father John D. Morton Sr. SERVICES: A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday June 1, 2013 at 11 AM at the Russian City Cemetery in Berlin. At Mortys request, there will be no calling hours. Anyone who wishes may make a donation to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 101 Norway St., Berlin, NH 03570 or to a charity of ones choice in his memory.
