John Jacobs

Mr. John Jacobs, 77, of 10 Freeport Lane, Palm Coast, Florida and Norway, Maine, formerly of Berlin, NH, passed away on Tuesday November 15, 2005 at the Florida Hospital Flager in Palm Coast, Florida. He was born in Berlin, NH on February 10, 1928 the son of Norman and Pat (deBanville) Jacobs. He attended Berlin High School and graduated from Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, NH in 1946. He graduated from Bowdoin College in 1950. He was the Treasurer of Jacobs & Bouchard, Inc., General Insurance Agency in Berlin, NH from 1950-1984 and a Partner of the Berlin Real Estate Agency and Berlin Investment Services. He served on the Executive Committee of New Hampshire Independent Insurance Agents from 1959-1962 and was the President in 1963 and the National State Director from 1967-78. He served with the National Guard from 1950-1974 and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He was also a member of the Berlin Rotary Club, the Elks and the Berlin Jaycees. Members of the family include his wife Dot (Jung) Jacobs of Palm Coast, FL and Norway, ME; 4 daughters Kathy Jacobs of Londonderry, NH, Deborah Jacobs of New York, NY, Linda Jacobs of New Gloucester, ME and Marty Jacobs of Thetford, VT; 7 grandchildren and 1 brother Norman deB. Jacobs of Lexington, MA. There will be a memorial service next summer in Berlin, NH. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of ones choice or Florida Hospital Memorial Hospice Care, 875 Sterthaus Avenue, Ormond Beach, FL, 32174.
