Jules L. P. Poulin, 79, of Berlin, passed away at his home on December 25, 2019 surrounded by family after a period of declining health. He was born on June 14, 1940 in Beaceville, Quebec the son of the late Felix and Marie-Ange Poulin. Jules came to Berlin at the age of 12 and has resided in the United States ever since. He lived in Berlin for most of his life.
Jules was a United States Army veteran, where he served in Baumholder, Germany, following which he worked in the logging industry for most of his life. He worked for Currier Trucking, 3D Logging, Serge Leveille and lastly for Leveille Trucking. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, past president of the Knights of Columbus, a hunter, fisherman, bowler, hockey fan and Boston Bruins fan. He was a very devout Catholic and held a special place in his heart for the Virgin Mary. Jules loved entertaining at his home, loved traveling, was very handy and always was willing to lend a helping hand. He was a former auto racer with his brother Richard, and volunteered at the Marie Rivier Food Pantry.
Members of the family include his wife Lydia C. Rouleau-Poulin; daughter Louise Lavoie; brothers Richard Poulin (Louise) and Paul Poulin, all of Berlin, NH; sisters Paulette Pratte of Berlin and Danielle Lafrance (Arthur) of Palmer, Alaska; aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Jean Marc, Louis and Pierre and sister Cecile.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 10am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Interment will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Sunday from 3-5pm at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin.
