Kenneth Parent passed away peacefully Sunday January 10th, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 26th, 1942 in Dorchester Massachusetts the son of Dorothy Perry-Chaisson, and the grandson of Charles and Eva Perry. He lived in the Berlin-Gorham area all his life and attended St. Joseph School and Notre Dame High School. He worked for Fraser Paper, in the beater room until his retirement in January 2005. After his retirement, he worked for Community Service Center as a community integrator. Ken married the love of his life and his best friend Lena Bourassa on September 9th, 1967 and together they raised two children Kerry and Kevin. His passions in life were his family, which always came first, and his friends. He was also an avid fisherman and loved to play cards. He was always there if anyone needed a hand with anything, and was loved by all those he came in contact with. He achieved his lifelong dream to travel and visited such places as California, Las Vegas, Florida, Graceland, North Carolina, Yosemite National Park, Philadelphia, Virginia Beach and Myrtle Beach. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Lena Bourassa-Parent, his son Kerry Parent and wife Tina of Charlotte, North Carolina, his son Kevin Parent and his fiance Sonia Alvarez of Wakefield, Massachusetts. His mother Dorothy Chaisson of Berlin, New Hampshire, his sister Pauline Arsenault and her husband Bob of Berlin, New Hampshire and his two granddaughters Kendra and Kara Parent both of Berlin, New Hampshire. He also leaves behind two brothers-in-law Raymond (Frenchie) Bourassa of New Port Richey, Florida, and Donald Bourassa of Berlin, New Hampshire and his father-in-law Rosario Bourassa of Berlin, New Hampshire. Along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his grandparents Charles and Eva Perry. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish on Pleasant St. in Berlin. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave. in Berlin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Gorham Ambulance Service, 347 Main St., Gorham, NH for their countless trips to and from various hospitals.
