Leo B. Martin

Leo B. Martin, 75, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, February 5, 2013.Mr. Martin was born in Chartierville, P.Q. on February 17, 1937, a son of Emile and Antonia (Laflamme) Martin and moved to Berlin in 1961. He was a logger for many years and his first local job was at a logging camp in Bartlett. Leo cut ski trails at Wildcat, Attitash and the Balsams. He retired at age 55 and then he began to enjoy the simple pleasures like spending time with his grandkids, motorcycles, cards, golf and camping with Francoise. Leo was also an avid broomball fan and watched his son play every week. He was a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish and the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree. Members of the family include his wife Francoise (Carrier) Martin of Berlin; son Marc Martin and wife Andrea of Conway and Alain Martin of Berlin; grandchildren Ashlynn Martin, Jesse Martin, Jocelyn Martin and Jack Martin; brothers and sisters Marcel Martin and wife Dolores of Sherbrooke, Viateur Martin of Sherbrooke, Yvon Martin and wife Lise of Montreal, Bella Lauzon of Drumondville and Carmen Anctil of Berlin; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by 5 siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 9, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Canada. Donations in his memory may be made to AVH Home Health and Hospice Services, 59 Page Hill Road, Berlin, NH, 03570.
