Leo Couture passed away surrounded by family at Androscoggin Valley Hospital on Thursday, November 19, 2015. He was 84.
He was born in Berlin on July 29, 1931 the son of Donat and Roseanna (Landry) Couture.
He served in the U.S. Airforce for 23 years as a Safety Inspector/Technician. He was a member of the VFW post 2520, and a life member of the D.A.V. #8.
Leo married Pauline Bergeron and together they raised three children.
In 1974 Leo retired from being a truck driver. He drove for Persons Concrete and Isaacson Structural Steel.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish/St Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish.
Leo enjoyed fishing, boating, music, snow machining and dining out. He and Pauline traveled many years while he was serving in the Airforce. They also spent many winters in Florida.
Besides his parents Leo was predeceased by his loving wife Pauline Bergeron who passed in 1996. His grandsons Matthew Couture and baby Ethan; His brothers Roland, Romeo, Paul and Lionel and his sisters Rose Babineau, Florence Croteau and Cecile Gagnon.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind two sons George Couture and his companion Kathy Shannon of Somersworth, NH, Paul Couture and wife Debbie of Sparks, Nevada; a daughter Lisa Morrissette and husband Richard of Berlin, NH; three grandchildren Benjamin Couture, Caitlyn Morrissette and Kyle Morrissette; a great-granddaughter Layla Mae Couture; sisters Lillian Lauzier of Bristol, CT, Olive Bourassa of Berlin and Jeannette King of Berlin. Several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Sunday, November 22nd from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Monday, November 23rd from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street in Berlin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 23rd at 10:00am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish with Reverend Andrew Nelson as Celebrant.
Burial will be private of the Russian City Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to, Coos County Nursing Home, Sunshine Fund, AVH Care Service, Dorothy Fund or to the Disabled Veterans Administration
