Leon H. "Frenchy" Boucher, 85, of Berlin, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at his home. He was born in Berlin, NH on July 11, 1939 the son of the late Antonio and Angeline Boucher. He resided in Berlin nearly all of his life, working at the Groveton paper mill, retiring with Wausau Paper in 1998. He played hockey from the age of 16 until he was 80 and also watching professional hockey, playing the violin, watching wrestling on TV, and tending to his yard with meticulous care. Leon was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree.
Family includes his wife of 62 years Priscille Boucher of Berlin; his children: John Boucher and wife Lena of Berlin, Joan Martel and husband Perry of Essex Junction, VT, David Boucher and wife Wendy of Mont Vernon, NH; grandchildren: John Boucher II, Ashley Norton and husband James, Jonathan Martel, Ethan Boucher, Katherine Boucher; siblings: Jeanne E. Cloutier, Jean A. Boucher and wife Sylvia, Eugene Boucher and husband Jean P. Croteau; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by siblings Maurice Boucher, Alfred Boucher and brother-in-law Lucien Cloutier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 1 pm at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin with interment following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Berlin. Relatives and friends may call from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin.
