Lorraine E. Roy, 86, passed away due to failing health on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Coos Country Nursing Home where she had been a resident since 2009.
She was born on February 21, 1930 to Wilfred and Eva (St. Cyr) Roy.
Lorraine graduated from Berlin High School in 1948 and earned a degree in Watch Making in Chicago, Illinois in 1968. She had been a jeweler for many years in Berlin where her shop was located at 91 Green St. She was a dispatcher for Dumas Taxi Service for five years and later worked for Fleury-Patry Funeral Home as their dispatcher for an additional five years. She volunteered her time at AVH with Dr. Rozek, she volunteered at the Old Antique Shop in Gorham and did volunteer work at Coos County Family Health Services. For several years, she knitted hats and booties for babies born with aids, which she then donated to various hospitals.
She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Doris Roy and her Cousin Alice Poirier.
At the request of Lorraine, there will be no visiting hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at St Anne Cemetery in the family plot.
In lieu of flowers, she requested that a donation be made to a Charity of your choice.
