Luc J L'Heureux, 93, passed away at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Berlin on Monday, May 13, 2013. Luc had only been back in Berlin for a couple of weeks; he had been residing in Florida for the past 2 years. Prior to moving to FL Luc spent his summers here in Berlin and the winters in Florida.
Luc was born in Berlin on February 8, 1920. He was the son of the late John and Josephine (Michaud) L'Heureux.
On December 1, 1945, he married Rita Albert, and together they raised one daughter and two sons.
Prior to retiring in 1995 Luc worked for Brown Company and was also self-employed as a carpenter.
Luc served in the U.S. Army from 1942 through 1945.
Prior to his wife passing 8 years ago, Luc and Rita loved playing cards and going dancing. Luc was well known for his talent of woodworking; most notably for making kitchen cabinets.
He is survived by his daughter, Helen Dailey and husband Tom of Sarasota FL, two sons, George L'Heureux and wife Joanne of Berlin; Richard L'Heureux and wife Althea of Milan, NH; a brother Noel L'Heureux of Somerset, MA; two sisters Ida Hayden and Ina Maga both of Athol, MA. Luc also leaves 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by four brothers, Leo L'Heureux, Eri L'Heureux, Asa L'Heureux and Guy L'Heureux and his parents. . There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, May 20, 2013, at Holy Family Parish, Gorham NH. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Parish in Gorham.
