Lucien G. "Lou" Coulombe, a longtime resident of Spruce Street, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at home. He was 94.
Born on September 15, 1921 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of Jean-Baptiste Coulombe and Valentine A. (Gagnon) Coulombe.
A lifelong resident of Berlin, he attended Berlin Schools.
During World War II, he served in the US Army as a truck driver for over 30 months in Africa and Italy.
On June 16, 1947, he married Marguerite Maurais in Berlin.
He retired from Brown Company in Berlin where he was employed as a screening operator.
Lou enjoyed walking and tinkering around the house.
He was a communicant of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin.
Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by several brothers and sisters.
He leaves his loving wife of 68 years, Marguerite Coulombe of Berlin, Sons Paul Coulombe of Salem, NH, Robert Coulombe and wife Nina of Berlin, Donald Coulombe and partner Normand Voisine of Gorham, and daughter Lucie Coulombe of Twin Mountain, three grandchildren: Louis Coulombe, Lisa Coulombe, and Sara Coulombe all of Berlin; three great-grandchildren Faith Ann Marshall, Alexandra Rose Coulombe, and Noah Robert Coulombe. Many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm Wednesday, January 6th at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Berlin.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 6th from 11:00am to 12:30pm (prior the Mass) at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH.
