Lucille "Lou" (Larochelle) Nolan, 89, Berlin, died after a period of failing health at home with family at her side. She was born in Berlin to Alfred and Alice (Boutin) Larochelle on June 6, 1930. She graduated from Notre Dame in 1948 and went on to attend the St. Louis Hospital Nursing School. She met Norman Nolan and the couple married at St. Kierans Catholic Church.
Lou worked at St. Louis Hospital and then Androscoggin Valley Hospital as a registered nurse until her retirement in 1995. She continued at AVH as volunteer for as long as her health allowed. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and served as president of the North Country Nursing Association. She enjoyed camping at Israel River Campground, cross country skiing, and spending time with her pets.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Norman Nolan, a daughter Ann Marie Nolan, and a sister Julie Boucher. She is survived by a daughter Linda Fappaino and her husband Donald of Berlin, a sister Jeanine Montminy of Pepperell, MA, grandchildren, Paul and his partner Timmy, and Grant, close family friend Kimberley Turgeon, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family are invited to call at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St. Berlin, on Thursday January 2, 2020 from 4-7PM and Friday January 3, 2020 8:30 to 9:30. Fr. David Wong will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish on Friday January 3, 2020 at 10, with interment to follow at St. Kieran Cemetery.
