Malcolm E. Shute

Malcolm E. Shute, 84, of Gorham, and formerly of Londonderry, NH, passed away on Sunday December 31, 2017 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was born in Newburyport, MA on October 17, 1933 the son of Walter and Margaret (Connors) Shute and was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He held a pilots license and ran an advertising business where he pulled banners with his plane. Malcolm had been employed as an engineer and technical writer, spending 5 years overseas in Saudi Arabia as a technical writer. He had a great sense of humor and loved his family. He was very proud of his 50 years of sobriety through AA. Family includes his wife Barbara Shute of Gorham; his son Dr. Keith Shute of Gorham; granddaughters Rachel Shute, Rebecca Shute and Amanda Shute; and his daughter-in-law Patricia Shute of Berlin. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Shute. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 6, 2018 at 3 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 3 PM, prior to the service.
