Marijane Eastman Peplow

Marijane Eastman Peplow died December 12, 2015 in the care of hospice after a lengthy illness with heart disease. She was born September 16, 1930 as Marijane Luchetti, the daughter of Helen Eastman and Frank Luchetti. After a short marriage, Marijanes surname was changed back to Eastman in 1935. Marijane was raised by her mother, grandmother and great grandmother in a house on the hill in downtown Berlin. She attended Upsala College, John Hopkins School for International Studies, and finally the Pontifical Universidad Catolica del Ecuador in Quito, Ecuador for her doctoral degree in International Law. Marijane traveled to all seven continents and both poles. She was a vigorous supporter of space exploration and a strong animal advocate, especially her beloved cats Avi and Girl. She is survived by two sons, Malcolm Edward Lancelot Peplow, Alexandria, VA and Charles Derek Gwaine Peplow, Wilmington, NC; one grandson Ian Charles Peplow, Wilmington, NC. A graveside service will be held on July 22, 2016 at 2pm in the Lary Cemetery, Gorham, NH with interment to follow, Reverend Dean Stiles of First Baptist Church will preside. The family requests donations in Marijanes memory be directed toward furthering heart disease education and research. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Bryant Funeral Homes, Berlin and Gorham, NH.
