Mr. Marion N. Mac Mackey, 80, of Berlin, NH passed away on July 10, 2010 at his home. He was born in Enid, OK on January 23, 1930 the son of John Lewis and Beatrice Gale (Brogan) Mackey and lived in Oklahoma most of his life and came to Berlin in 2000. He was Business Manager for the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from which he retired in 1993. Mac played trombone in the University of Oklahoma Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band. He served on the on the Board of Commissioners in Ward 5 for the city of Enid, Oklahoma and while living in Berlin, he taught computers at the Senior Center. He was known for taking his dogs to the nursing homes, he liked canoeing, photography, animals, traveling, camping and the outdoors. Mac loved Pugwash, Nova Scotia. He was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Members of the family include his wife Judith (Thurlow) Mackey of Enid, OK; a son Michael Cris Mackey and his wife Terri of Moore, OK; two daughters Patricia Gale Cassil and her husband Steve of Bethany, OK and Jan Elizabeth Dowlearn and her husband Chuck of Blanchard, OK; seven grandchildren Shawn Cassil, Laura Cassil, Blake Mackey, Kendra Thiel, James Matthew Ventress, Justin Dowlearn and Sterling Dowlearn; a great grandson Blaze Mackey; nieces, nephews, many friends and his two dogs Skeeter and Samson. SERVICES: A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday afternoon July 13, 2010 at 1:00 PM at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Berlin, NH. Interment will be held at a later date in Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes may make a donation to St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, High Street, Berlin, NH 03570 in his memory. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to his dear friend and caregiver Jackie Morin.
