Maurice R. Croteau

Maurice R. Croteau, 74, of Berlin, passed away on Monday September 23, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family after a period of declining health. He was born in Berlin on February 1, 1950 the son of the late George T. and Alexina (Lapointe) Croteau and was a lifelong resident. Moe made special friends at all of the different jobs that he held; Converse Rubber, Blais Wholesale, Balsam Water, Berlin City just to name a few. He loved camping at Abbotts Anchorage in Maine for 25 years and enjoyed traveling, fishing, cribbage and pay-me. He had a lot of catchy phrases over the years, “That’s nice”, “Prend une gorge”, “The pressure”, “Slack!”, “Go Bruins” and “Think it’s easy?!”. Moe’s teasing and quick whit will be greatly missed by family and friends but cherished memories will remain in our hearts.

Family includes his wife of 55 years Rita I. (Lachance) Croteau of Berlin, NH; they were blessed with one daughter Celeste Bisson and husband Keith of Berlin, NH; grandson Benjamin Lacasse and partner Heather Charron; his sister Marguerite Frenette; his brother Emile Croteau and wife Rita Lizzie Croteau; brother-in-law Pop Blais; many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Jules Croteau, Marcel Croteau and Lionel Croteau and his sisters Aurore Jutras and Robertine Blais.

Per Maurice’s request, there will be no calling hours. The family invites friends and family to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday September 30, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin and/or his celebration of life at the White Mountain Chalet, 161 E. Milan Rd., Berlin following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to David’s House, 461 Mount Support Rd, Lebanon, NH, 03766, www.davids-house.org.
