Maurice E. Rainville

Maurice Eli Rainville, 87, of Gorham, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Berlin, NH on July 29, 1937, the son of the late Eli and Maria (Lacroix) Rainville.

Maurice was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Claire (Dube) Rainville, his son Scott Rainville and wife Tracy and children, Dustin, Brooklyn and Teah of Berlin, his daughter, Christie Beckwith and husband Jason and children, Xavier, Gavin and Jagger of Goffstown and daughter Maria Bilger and husband Don and children, Jakob, Colby, Kacie and Alison of Gorham. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a furry friend Cuddles, his cat. He is predeceased by his sister, Pauline (Rainville) Hoffman.

Maurice graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1955. He achieved success in his 40 year career as an automotive and industrial parts salesman for Bowman Distribution. His hobbies included playing cards, especially cribbage, listening to and collecting music, spending time in his yard, walking the beach during his annual family vacation at Old Orchard Beach, going for scenic rides with Claire in their convertible and sharing fond memories of their travels to some of their favorite destinations like Hawaii, Alaska, and the National Parks.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 1pm at Holy Family Church, Church St., Gorham with interment following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Berlin. Visitation will begin at 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Holy Family Parish in Gorham, NH, honoring his legacy.
