Nellie Elizabeth Murphy, 86, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at the St. Vincent de Paul Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin. She was born in Berlin on Christmas day in 1929 the daughter of William & Laura (Perry) Duguay and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was employed by the Converse Rubber Co., Kellys Pastry Shop, Northland Dairy Bar, and lastly as a CNA for Coos County Nursing Home. Nellie was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, the Holiday Center and the Red Hat Society and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Members of the family include her six children; Roland Couture of Dummer, NH, Helen Blaney of Rochester, NH, Raymond Couture and wife Pam of Berlin, Robert Couture and wife Pauline of Canaan, VT, Gary Murphy and wife Rhonda of Ossipee, NH and Gail Bertrand of Berlin; 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; brother Roger Duguay of Berlin; sisters Lena Couture and husband Lucien of Enfield, CT and Shirley Beland and husband William of Harwinton, CT; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband Laurier Couture, second husband Clarence Murphy and a brother Herbert Duguay. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday September 29, 2016 at 10am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish with interment to follow in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday September 28th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Activities Dept., 29 Providence Ave., Berlin, NH.
