Nelson E. Hersom

Mr. Nelson E. Hersom, 69, of 478 First Avenue, Berlin, NH passed away Thursday July 12, 2007 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born in Rochester, NH on April 3, 1938 the son of Chester and Ethel (Ellis) Hersom and lived most of his life in the Rochester, NH area. He had resided in Berlin since 2002. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Pratt & Whitney. Mr. Hersom loved feeding birds, moose watching, working around the house and socializing with his neighbors. Members of the family include his companion and close friend Julie Dupont of Berlin, NH; a brother Everett Hersom and his wife Louise of Rochester, NH; nephews David Hersom and Charles Hersom and a niece Linda Nylund; sisters-in-law Yvonne Hersom and Lillian Hersom. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Robert, Clarence and Herbert and sister Ruby Manson. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH on Sunday July 15, 2007 in the afternoon from 1 to 5 PM. There will be no services. Interment will be at a later date in Lancaster, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Berlin Emergency Medical Service, 182 East Mason Street, Berlin, NH, 03570.
